Rubber and foam conversion

Applications can also be made leak tight by using gaskets. These gaskets are produced out of full rubber or cellular sheet material, depending on the requirements for the application.

Cellular gaskets are often used:

  • the distance between two components is large and holds large tolerances
  • to absorb vibrations, shocks and noise
  • to insulate (thermal and weather)
  • to filter

Full rubber gaskets are mostly found in applications where two flange components offer enough circumferential pressure to compress a gasket and make it leak tight.

Of-the-shelf sheet material is used for the production of the gaskets. This gives these products a price advantage. For small series, the processes of waterjet cutting and plotting can be used, leaving the customer with NO tooling costs. Larger series are produced with a die, a tool relatively inexpensive in comparison with injection or compression moulds.
